The Power of Vision: Why Every Christian Entrepreneur Needs a Clear Vision
Drifting, Disoriented, Doubtful: How Vision Is The Roadmap To Your Prophetic Destiny
Have you ever found yourself sitting at your desk, staring at your computer screen, wondering: "Is this it? Is this all God has for me?" I've been there too. That feeling of knowing you're meant for something more, but not quite seeing the path forward clearly.
Let’s be honest. It goes WAY deeper than just ‘not quite’ seeing a path forward. It’s more about spending thousands of dollars, and hundreds of hours, buying courses, building websites, funnels, and courses, and attempting every imaginable way under the sun to make this make-money-online thing work, but it still eluding you.
If that hits a mark or rings your bell then read on.
It was during one of these moments when Proverbs 29:18 jumped off the page for me: "Where there is no vision, the people perish." This verse hit me like a revelation - without vision, we don't just stagnate, we actually lose something vital. We lose our sense of purpose, direction, and the momentum that propels us forward.
Vision: More Than Just Dreams
Vision isn't just positive thinking or daydreaming about success. This is NOT about new-age manifestation techniques. True vision is about seeing what God sees for your future and aligning your steps accordingly. It's spiritual foresight combined with faithful action.
Think about the great figures throughout the Bible:
- Abraham stepped out toward a promised land he'd never seen
- Joseph held onto a vision through years of imprisonment
- Paul pursued his calling despite incredible obstacles
What united them all? They could see beyond their current circumstances. They had a vision that sustained them through challenges, redirections, and waiting seasons.
Why Your Vision Gets Cloudy
If vision is so important, why do we struggle to maintain it? In my conversations with Christian entrepreneurs, I've found three common vision-blockers:
1. Daily distractions pull our focus away
2. Discouragement makes us doubt what we once saw clearly
3. Isolation removes the community that helps sharpen our vision
This is precisely why I became passionate about creating tools to keep our vision front and center - not as a one-time exercise, but as a living, evolving practice.
Reimagining the Vision Board for Today's Christian Entrepreneur
The concept of vision boards isn't new, but our approach to them needed refreshing. What if we created something that:
- Incorporated God's Word as the foundation
- Could evolve as God refines our vision
- Was accessible whenever we needed reminding
- Combined modern technology with timeless truth
That's what led me to develop a digital vision board experience in Canva. This approach has transformed how I maintain my vision, and I believe it will become both an asset and a blessing in your life.
Keeping Vision Alive Is Vital
The power of a digital vision board lies in its ability to stay relevant in your everyday life. Here's how it can work for you:
It becomes a morning touchpoint - start your day by revisiting God's vision for your life
It provides mid-day realignment - when challenges arise, reconnect with the bigger picture
It offers evening reflection - celebrate progress and surrender tomorrow to God's care
Most importantly, it keeps Scripture at the center of your vision, ensuring your dreams align with God's purposes.
Moving from Aspiration to Action
Vision without action remains just a dream. That's why effective vision work always includes practical steps forward. As you clarify what God is showing you, ask:
- What's my very next step?
- Who can journey alongside me?
- How will I measure faithful progress?
- When will I reassess and refine?
Remember, God rarely reveals the entire journey at once. He provides enough light for the step we're on, while asking us to trust Him for what lies beyond our sight.
Your Invitation to Greater Clarity
If you're feeling that nudge toward greater clarity in your business and calling, I want to encourage you to set aside time specifically for vision work. Whether you use my digital vision board template or create your own approach, the important thing is to intentionally seek God's perspective for your future.
Your vision matters. Not just for your own fulfillment, but because God has kingdom purposes wrapped up in your obedience to what He's showing you. The world needs what only you, walking in your specific calling, can provide.
So today, commit to clarifying your vision. Your future self will thank you, and more importantly, you'll position yourself to hear those beautiful words: "Well done, good and faithful servant."
